Scott's Industrial

About Us.

The elements of ideal timing, sound management, and progressive response to the growing industrial supply needs of the Grey, Bruce, Simcoe and Wellington counties, have elevated Scott’s Industrial from limited beginnings to a full-service distributor over the past half century.

Scott’s Industrial has grown steadily since February 1970, when it commenced sales from the drive shed of a rural home in Jackson, Ontario. The addition of other industrial and general product lines soon attracted a widening clientele. The business warranted relocation to larger quarters and became one of the first occupants of Springmount Business Park, Owen Sound. The original 2,000 square-foot building has since been extended several times.

This continuing expansion has added to the company's market share and clearly established Scott’s as a major distributor in Grey, Bruce, Simcoe and Wellington counties, where industrial, commercial and institutional customers purchase a virtually unlimited selection of industrial products including maintenance and production supplies.

Today, the flourishing business remains locally owned and new technology and innovative products are constantly being launched to increase efficiencies, decrease production time, and ultimately save you money. We offer product demonstrations and trials in a risk-free environment. In the decades of industrial distribution we have prospered by taking a long-term focus and by standing behind the products we sell.

Our experienced and long-term employees are specialists in their field, possessing an abundance of valuable information. They provide on-site service, identify potential cost-saving opportunities, and supply knowledgeable application assistance on your shop floor. This information can increase productivity, reduce cycle times, and trouble-shoot breakdown situations. Of course, the backbone of our service is our ability to offer consistent technical support and efficient product sourcing.

Scott’s service reputation has been further enhanced by our membership in a national business network of Canadian industrial distributors, who work together. Members currently have over 200 locations across Canada with combined sales in excess of $1 billion and 2,100+ employees

There are several major advantages that membership provides Scott’s and its customers:

  • Purchasing Power – Our volume leveraging translates directly into more competitive pricing for our customers.
  • Product Sourcing Capabilities – As an extended network to Scott’s existing sourcing experts, additional product lines are readily available through members at extremely competitive pricing. This adds hundreds of brands to our already extensive product offering.
  • Financial Stability Assurance – Only distributors such as Scott’s with strong financial statements can maintain their membership. All members are monitored by the Board and by its external accounting firm
